APPLICATION OF MAGNETOHYDRODYNAMIC TREATMENT TO REMOVE SULFATE-IONS FROM FORMATION MEDIA

Annotation: Urgency, scale and causative agents of microbiological corrosion of the field pipelines, causes of H2S generation with sulfate reducing bacteria (SRB) participation, the influence of H2S amount on the rate of corrosion, and relation between H2S amount and presence of sulfate-ions in the formation medium – all these matters are considered in the article. The way has been found to remove sulfates from the formation medium by means of magnetohydrodynamic treatment (MHDT). Optimum MHDT time providing complete removal of sulfate-ions from the medium is determined.
