WATER SHUTOFF TECHNOLOGY USE FOR DUAL POROUS RESERVOIR DEVELOPMENT

 

Background

From the moment of injection water appearance in the flowstream the flooding control in required. With this aim, the partial water shutoff of watered areas is used. Development of fractured porous reservoir requires the shutoff of the cracks with the high watercut while keeping the permeability of oil saturated cracks.

Aims and Objectives

To investigate the optimal operation regime of water shutoff technologies for development of reservoir with dual porous by means of hydrodynamic model.

Results

It was shown that massive oil deposits in fractured porous reservoir moves up vertically. In order to enhance oil recovery the bottom hole might be artificially lifted or cementing slurry could be injected into the reservoir for shutoff of the watered reservoir fractures.

The efficiency of the watertight barrier depends on the volume of fractured reservoir. This dependence is non-linear.
